Alan's Film Series

Welcome to Alanfilms blog, created as a site for information on the Alan Hankin Environmental Film Series, as well as a place to leave feedback on the programs, memories of our beloved teacher and colleague, and discussion on ways to continue Alan's legacy of education, advocacy, and commitment to change.

The Film Series is currently scheduled as follows:

Tuesday, April 18, 7:00 p.m, Bordy Theater. Opening night: documentary Pale Male, and Alan's tribute film. Introduction by Professor Michele Goldsmith.

Wednesday, April 19, 10:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m., Media Services Center: showings of feature film, Instinct, adapted for the screen from Daniel Quinn's novel Ishmael, one of Alan's favorite texts.

Thursday, April 20, 7:00 p.m, Walker Room 210, 7:00 p.m. Panel discussion on global warming, followed by screening of Darwin's Nightmare, the Academy Award-nominated documentary on the impact of globalization on natural resources, and human lives.
