Darwin's Nightmare: Thursday, April 20

The final screening of the Alan Hankin Environmental Film Series will be Thursday, April 20, in Walker 210. EarthEmerson is holding a panel discussion on global warming at 7:00 p.m., and the film will follow, probably around 8:30 p.m.

Darwin's Nightmare is a documentary about Africa, about the West, about globalization, about fish, about weapons, about the poor, about the World bank . . . in short, about the interrelatedness of the natural and human realms. But Hubert Sauper's film--a sort of anti-Pale Male-- reveals the hellish side of these entwined relationships.

An excellent, but troubling documentary, nominated for the Academy Award for best documentary feature.
